Happy March! I was looking at the calendar this morning and March is a long month. It is also the month where I officially become sick of winter and long for spring. I begin checking out the cheery colors on spring clothes, strappy shoes and hand bags. I'd like to offer you a challenge...try your hand at a bright spring layout today. Use some pretty pastel paper and scrap last year's Easter egg hunt, the first flowers sprouting up in your garden or create a page that talks about what you love most about spring.
I'd love to see your layouts, so use our contact form and send them to me once they are complete!

My daughter was pretty proud of this page she made using patterned paper, coordinating stickers and paint chips from Home Depot. She drew faces on the Mickey paint chips and added them to her page with a glue stick. How's that for creativity?

This is currently one of my favorite layouts. Probably more for the picture than the layout itself (although I am loving the pink and chocolate brown combo). The girls in the photo are my daughters and my friend's daughters. These kids are going to grow up together, and I think that in 10 years it will be fun to look back on this and smile.
The brown patterned paper is from Rebecca Sower. A little touch of shabby chic. I turned the photo to sepia tone, matted it on suede paper and then added the light pink background. A few pink flowers, a handmade booklet that tells a bit more of the story, and a couple metal accents and viola! A simple, coordinated, slightly girly layout!
Scrapbooking is a passion of mine. It is a creative outlet. It's a fun way to preserve memories of all kinds. It is a mode of expression. It is a craft that my 4 and 1/2 year old daughter is becoming passionate about as well. I like to create my canvas with gorgeous focal photos, some ribbon and patterned papers. My daughter's tools of choice are stickers, my rubber stamp collection and markers. We have a lot of fun together (she even has her own album where she preserves her pages) and she smiles when I show her my final product. I enjoy watching her style evolve with time, just as mine did.

I created this section of the Web site to offer some pointers, tricks of the trade and a record of my journey. Join me for the ride and come back to visit often!
That being said, my first pointer is: if you have children and you like to scrapbook, include your children. Trust me, you will feel a tremendous sense of pride as you watch what they create. And they will enjoy spending time with you and sharing your passion.
